AMMAN, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian Armed Forces said on Tuesday that it foiled an attempt to infiltrate into the country from Syria with a number of drugs.

One of the three infiltrators was injured by the army before they retreated into the Syrian territories, according to a statement by the army.

After searching the area, the army found about 200,000 pills of narcotics which were later handed over to the concerned authorities.

Since the outbreak of the crisis in Syria in 2011, Jordan has reinforced surveillance of its borders with Syria, which stretch more than 360 km.
