MOGADISHU -- At least ten people including five soldiers were killed and nine others wounded in a suicide car bombing in the Somali capital, Mogadishu on Wednesday, officials said.

Deputy Governor of Banadir region, Ali Abdi Wardhere, who is in charge of security, said a suicide bomber targeted a security convoy along Mogadishu's 21st October road near the heavily fortified international airport. (Somalia-Suicide-Bombing)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Transportation Minister Rostam Qassemi has said Iran and Syria are determined to expand their economic and trade relations amid the prospect of ending military conflicts in Syria, Press TV reported on Wednesday.

"The end of war in Syria is the beginning of a new era of economic relations between the two countries, especially given that Iran and Syria have been beside one another throughout the era of fighting international terrorism," Qassemi said upon arrival in Syrian capital Damascus on Tuesday night. JOHANNESBURG -- At least 17 people have been killed in a head-on collision between a minibus taxi and a Toyota SUV on the N1 highway near Mookgophong off-ramp, said Limpopo Transport and Community Safety Department on Wednesday.

"It is alleged that the driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle due to a tyre burst and collided head-on with a 22-seater Mercedes-Benz bus," the department spokesperson Mike Maringa said. (South Africa-Road Accident)
