TEHRAN -- Iran and the European Union announced here on Saturday the resumption of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in the coming days to revive the Iranian nuclear pact.

Making the remarks at a joint televised press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, visiting European Union (EU) Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell said the talks will resume "quickly" and "immediately" in an effort to "solve the last outstanding issues." RAMALLAH -- At least 130 Palestinian protesters were injured on Friday during clashes with Israeli soldiers in several West Bank villages, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.

Among the injured were three shot by live ammunition and nine by rubber bullets, while the others inhaled teargas fired by Israeli soldiers. (Israeli Soldiers-Clashes)

TEHRAN -- At least one person was killed and dozens wounded in the 5.6-magnitude earthquake that struck areas in Iran's southern Hormozgan province on Saturday, the official IRNA news agency reported.

In the earthquake, 31 people, including 19 men and 12 women, were injured, and one of them died of severe injuries, the head of Kish Island Specialized Hospital Mustafa Nadalinejad was quoted as saying. (Iran-Quake-Casualty)

ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that Turkey's concerns over Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO were not responded to with any substantial steps.

Erdogan told NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in a phone call that Finland and Sweden had to take sincere and tangible steps over the harboring of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and Syria's Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) within their borders, the Turkish presidential office said in a statement.
