TheCriminal Investigation Branchin theDamascus CountrysideProvince has arrested a gang involved in the robbery of the Arab Bank in Syria during the liberation period.

Following thorough investigations and continuous field surveillance, the Criminal Investigation Branch in Damascus Countryside succeeded in apprehending a gang involved in the robbery of the Arab Bank in Syria. The gang exploited the liberation period to steal large amounts of gold and cash from inside the bank. In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement issued Sunday.

The ministry added that the authorities arrested several gang members, including two women, following close monitoring of their movements and the collection of evidence that enabled authorities to identify them and locate their whereabouts. Part of the stolen items, gold and cash, was recovered, and a house and two vehicles purchased with the stolen money were seized.
