Jordan condemns Israeli Prime Ministers visit to southern Syria

Jordan strongly condemned the illegal visit by Israeli occupations Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several officials from his government to southern Syrian territory, calling it a blatant violation of Syrias sovereignty and a breach of international law.

Jordanian Foreign Ministryspokesperson Fouad al-Majali said the country absolutely rejects and strongly condemns this serious violation, which constitutes an affront to the sovereignty of an Arab state and an unacceptable act of provocation. He stressed the need to halt all Israeli measures targeting Syrias security and stability, which violate the UN Charter and Israels obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

Al-Majali reiterated Jordans full support and solidarity with Syria, its security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens. He called on the international community to compel Israel to stop its unlawful attacks, end its occupation of Syrian territory, and respect international law and relevant UN resolutions.

Syria also condemned the visit, describing it as a violation of its sovereignty and an attempt to impose an illegal reality in the south. Israeli forces continue assaults on villages in Quneitra and Daraa, targeting civilians, demolishing property, and intimidating local populations. Syria urged the international community to take immediate measures to halt these attacks.
