Syria, India to boost cooperation in health sector

Syrian Health Minister Musab al-Ali met on Sunday with Charg dAffaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus, Renu Yadav, to discuss cooperation on medical field between the two countries.

Minister Al-Ali underlined that coordination has been completed to send 14 Syrian doctors to India.

He added " The program aims to get them acquainted with hospital practices and patient care methods in India, enabling the transfer of expertise to Syrias healthcare sector.

The Minister emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly in specialized medicines.

He expressed the Ministrys readiness to discuss establishing a plant in Syria to produce Indian medicines, positioning it as a hub to supply Middle Eastern countries.

For her part, Yadav affirmed that India will provide Syria with cancer medications in the coming period.

She also highlighted plans to broaden the exchange of expertise by sending medical delegations to Syria and including nursing staff in future cooperation programs.
