GCC Reaffirms Support for Syrias Reconstruction Efforts

KUWAIT CITY, Non 29 SANATheGulf Cooperation Council(GCC) has reiterated its support for reconstruction efforts in Syria in a way that contributes to improving the living conditions of the Syrian people.

According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Kuwaits Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya said in a statement on Saturday that GCC member states have expressed their readiness to support reconstruction and development initiatives aimed at rebuilding Syrias state institutions and improving humanitarian and living conditions. He added that this commitment stems from a shared Arab responsibility toward the countrys future, territorial integrity, and stability.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Al-Yahya stressed that the GCC maintains a firm position calling for consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the unobstructed flow of humanitarian aid, and supporting international efforts to revive the peace process in line with international and Arab references.

Al-Yahya also noted that Gulf states continue to support Lebanons sovereignty, security, and stability in a way that meets the aspirations of the Lebanese people.

Concerning Sudan, al-Yahya affirmed the GCCs support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability in the country, expressing deep concern over the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation.

Kuwait is set to conclude its term as president of the GCC Supreme Council next month, with Bahrain assuming the presidency of the Councils 46th session, scheduled to convene on December 3.
