Tartous Christmas market promotes unity and joy among Syrians

Tartous, Dec. 14 (SANA)Syrias Minister of Tourism, Mazen al-Salhani, officially opened the Christmas market at Junada Resort in Tartous, drawing a large crowd of both officials and local residents. The market features over 40 stalls offering gifts, food, handcrafted products, and live performances, with activities designed for families and children.

In his remarks, minister al-Salhani highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the event, emphasizing its role in fosteringSyriasvalues of love, peace, and diversity. The message fromTartoustoday is clear, he said. Syria is a country of peace, love, culture, and diversity. Now is the time to begin a new chapter of reconstruction and prosperity.

Father Milad Farah, representing Archbishop Antoine Chbeir of the Maronite Archeparchy of Lattakia, spoke about the unifying power of Christmas. Christmas represents new beginnings and renewed hope for Syrias future, he said, expressing optimism for the coming year.

Event organizer Soozi Khattar explained that while theChristmas marketis usually held in Damascus, this year it was moved to Tartous to bring the festive spirit to communities across Syria. Running from December 13 to 31, the market offers a wide variety of activities for all ages, from food and gifts to games and crafts.

Visitors expressed their excitement, with many praising the festive atmosphere, the fireworks, and the lighting of the Christmas tree. The market will continue through the end of the month, providing a space for Syrians to come together in celebration and spreading a message of love, peace, and goodwill across the nation.
