Damascus, Dec. 16 (SANA)The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Damascus hosted a reception on Tuesday evening to mark thekingdoms National Day, attended by Arab officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
The celebration, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, commemorated Bahrains independence from Britain on Dec. 16, 1971, and the accession of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the throne.
Bahrains ambassadorto Syria,Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, said the occasion was an opportunity to reflect on the kingdoms development achievements, including progress in sustainable development, empowering national talent, and strengthening Bahrains regional and international standing.
Sayyar also highlighted the long-standing fraternal relations between Bahrain and Syria, reaffirming Manamas support for efforts aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
Algerian Ambassador to Damascus Abdelkader Kasmi Al-Hassani, who attended the event, praised Bahrains leadership and people and congratulated Syria on the first anniversary of its liberation, calling it a source of pride for the Arab and Islamic world.
The reception was attended by senior officials from Syrias Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus.
Bahrain celebrates its National Day annually on Dec. 16 and 17, marking its independence and the beginning of the current monarchs rule. A national event that embodies the countrys journey in consolidating stability and development, and enhancing its presence both regionally and internationally.
