Damascus, Dec. 6 (SANA)The Syrian Ministry of Information held a ceremony on Saturday at theNational Center for Visual Artsto honor journalists who lost their lives during the 2024 Deterrence of Aggression battle.
The event was attended byInformation Minister Hamza al-Mustafaand Communications Minister Abdulsalam Haykal.
In his remarks, al-Mustafa praised the martyred journalists for documenting the conflict with cameras and pens as if holding burning embers, describing their sacrifices as part of a broader struggle. He added that their coverage preserved the narrative of the battle and deserves to be remembered.
Minister al-Mustafa went on to say that theDeterrence of Aggressionbattle was an epic in every sense, breaking existing equations and challenging intelligence assessments that had consistently predicted Assads continued rule as Syrias only option.
He emphasized that journalists created an alternative narrative, one that conveyed the possibility of hope and victory. The minister added that the battle is not yet over, as Syria now faces a second struggle: the challenge of rebuilding the country.
