Turkish President Recep TayyipErdoganannounced on Monday that Turkey will launch a special program to support Syrias recovery under the Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Speaking at a meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul, Erdoan highlighted Turkeys efforts to ease sanctions onSyria.
Thanks to our efforts and contributions, the sanctions that have greatly hindered economic development in Syria have begun to be gradually lifted, he said, adding that Syria must recover from years of conflict.
Syrias recovery is our priority; therefore, we are launching a special support program under COMCEC today, Erdogan added.
Syrian-Turkish relations have witnessed a remarkable improvement since the fall of the former regime in December 2024, with reciprocal visits continuing to strengthen economic ties and support the recovery of Syrias war-torn economy.
