Aleppo, Jan. 8 (SANA)The Internal Security Directorate in Aleppo confirmed on Thursday that SDF organization in the neighborhoods ofal-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoudcontinues to flout previously signed agreements, ignoring all initiatives aimed at restoring these areas under full state control.
In a statement released today, the directorate heldSDF organizationfully responsible for indiscriminate shelling and gunfire targeting residential areas and populated neighborhoods, which has resulted in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure. These actions were described as clear violations of the law, undermining public safety and civilian stability.
The Internal Security Directorate called on all SDF organization members to defect immediately, surrender their weapons, and contact the relevant authorities to ensure their safety.
Aleppo Governor Azzam Al-Gharibalso condemned the SDF organization for using civilians both as shields and targets, showing no regard for basic humanitarian or ethical standards. He emphasized that attacks on homes, hospitals, and government institutions are unforgivable crimes that will not go unanswered.
The governor urged residents to disperse from gatherings, avoid areas under fire, and only travel when necessary to protect their safety, while affirming the governments continued commitment to safeguarding the people of Aleppo and holding perpetrators accountable.
